Aston Villa v Man Utd preview: Hosts look for first win in 20 years

Aston Villa host Manchester United on Friday night, looking for a first home win over the Red Devils for 20 years. Since their 3-1 victory in August 1995, Villa have lost 12 and drawn seven of their 19 Premier League matches against United at Villa Park, and will look to end the hoodoo live on Sky Sports 1. Both sides won 1-0 on the opening day of the season, albeit in unconvincing fashion. Villa saw off newly-promoted Bournemouth on the south coast, while United overcame Tottenham at Old Trafford thanks to a Kyle Walker own goal.Rudy Gestede may have to settle for a place on Villa's bench against United, despite his debut winner last week. The striker, who joined from Blackburn in the summer, scored the only goal of the game at Bournemouth after coming off the bench, but Sherwood does not want to rush him after an interrupted pre-season. Jack Grealish (hamstring), Carles Gil (ankle) and Jores Okore (knee) are out while Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Amavi, Jordan Ayew, Jordan Veretout and Micah Richards are also set for their home debuts.
